Girton Hockey Club

The Girton Hockey Club welcomed the commencement of the HCV Winter Season this week. Although under strict new guidelines and rules, our students enjoyed getting back onto the pitch.  

The Under 15s team this year is playing a seven a side competition and played their first match against Hammerhead Sharks on Monday evening. The opposition were a little too strong for our team, but Ms White was extremely impressed with their efforts and attack, and she is looking forward to working with the team this year. Extremely well done to each player, in particular, Gian Vellacott 9 Riley volunteering to suit up as goalie for the game and doing a spectacular job.

The Under 18s team played Senjuns on Monday evening. Mrs Blanks was thrilled to see so many happy students once again enjoying the great game of Hockey. The game ended with a four goal draw. Recruit Taine Bishop (younger brother of Caitlin Bishop 12 Riley) scored all four goals with help from the forward line, while Amy Morgan our goalie and the backline worked hard all night to stop the attack of the Senjuns team. 

The Girton Hockey Club know how fortunate they are to be back playing and will embrace each week as it comes.
