From the Principal

Dear Parents,

Welcome to third term. It is hard to believe that we are already half-way through another year. The term has started extremely well and we welcomed eight new children to the school on Monday. We pray that all these children (and families) settle into the school quickly.

We are moving towards returning to ‘normal’ school life as we knew it PRE-COVID (there will be some differences…). Changes for this term are outlined further in this newsletter. Please take the time to read this and if you need clarification please ask. As a wider community, we have been able to live reasonably normal lives, however, this will only continue if we keep practising physical distancing, washing hands and remaining home if unwell.

There has been certainly a lot occur over the holidays around the school. The most noticeable change is the front office which has had a makeover. It has definitely freshened up the whole area and in the coming weeks, new furniture will arrive and student work feature more prominently in this space. It is hoped that this space will be completed in the coming week.

Works are currently being finalised behind the senior primary classrooms; incorporating an outdoor learning area. This has been funded by a State Government capital grant and will be a space for all classes to use. This will be finished in the next few weeks.

One of the features of the school is the display of flags in the courtyard. These flags represent all the different cultures which we have in the school and it is exciting to be able to acknowledge the cultural diversity which exists here. These flags are in the process of being updated, as they have faded over time and there are a number of new ones to add. If you find that your culture is not represented can you please speak with me so we can arrange to correct it. For a culture to be represented, traditions/language or some other recognition of the culture need to be practised regularly at home.

As we begin this new term, we ask that God continues to bless our school and all who are members of this community.

Blessings,

Shane
