Year 1

 Koalas, koalas and more koalas in Year 1

Wow what a fun term! 1J enjoyed reading books and spelling games. 1J also enjoyed art and studying all the different shapes and objects that can be used. Next term 1J is looking forward to doing more reading time so that they can become improved readers and writers. They would also enjoy spending more time with their friends next term, whether it’s at recess and lunch or in partner work in class. Another learning goal is improving their art skills and a social goal is broadening their friendship groups. Even though term 2 was so amazing, they think it will be nice to have a little break from teachers, friends and school work. In the holidays, they are looking forward to spending time with their parents, siblings and pets. After the holidays, 1J can’t wait to get started and dive into Term 3.

Richard Branson once said “Don’t be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again “  As this term comes to an end, 1M are focussing on their goals for next term. Pria and Curtis said that their learning goals are adding and subtracting two and three digit numbers. Another goal is graphemes (letter combinations) and phonemes (sounds). A social goal for them would be including others, expanding their friendship networks and trying harder to work as a team. A PB4L goal is to sit on the floor and not to be tempted to talk to classmates. As a result the whole class goal is to keep their working areas tidy and to treat resources with care. Pria and Curtis said that to achieve their goals they needed a growth mindset. 1M had a great term and are excited for the learning adventures to come.
