Rugby Gala Day
Our Grade 5/6 students had the opportunity to participate in the Rugby Gala Day held at Olympic Park Reserve. The event was last played in 2018, so we were pleased to be able to participate in this fantastic event again.
The students played tag or tackle with a focus on participation and having fun. Thank-you to Mr Robinson for attending the event and our 5/6 students who attended.
Rugby Sessions
I didn't want our 3/4 students missing out, so Ali from the NRL came to school and coached our Year 3/4 students. The students seemed to really enjoy this and we look forward to welcoming him back in 2023.
Bike Skills Day
Last Wednesday I took 18 students to a Bike Skills Day held at the Village Green. It was run by the Lyons Club in conjunction with the Mornington Peninsula Council. It allowed our students to show off their bike skills in various team activities. St Joseph's had two teams, one of them placed 2nd. It was a fabulous day!
Swim Squad
Our 3-6 Swim Squad had an incredible turn out for both our sessions. We had 3 Yr 6 students (Austin, Scarlett and Layla) help coach the squad. These sessions are not all about stroke development but focus on participation, being part of a team and commitment. Thank-you again to all of the students who are involved.
Prep-Grade 4 Intensive Swimming
Our Prep-Year 4 Intensive swimming program is well underway with nearly everyone participating. This program would not be able to run without the help of our volunteers. A HUGE thank-you to Annabel (Lily and Evie's Mum), Domenico (Skyla's Dad), Bill (Jenny Todd's Dad) and Leonie ( an ex-parent).
Just a reminder to please label your child's belongings. Please feel free to come and watch your child swim.
