Building Happy and Resilient Young People

The spread of the coronavirus turned life upside down, almost overnight, for millions of people around the world, asking them to navigate a new reality of more time at home, remote learning, and unprecedented uncertainty. Just because the coronavirus restrictions have been lifted, and life has returned to a resemblance of normality, doesn’t mean the psychological problems in young people have gone away. This 45-minute talk (+15 minutes of questions) is aimed at parents, grandparents and adult carers and provides practical, evidence-based strategies on how to build resilience in young people.

I define resilience as the capacity to face, overcome and be transformed by adversity.
