Student Support Group (SSGs)

Student Support Group meetings were held the last two weeks for students with additional needs. These meetings provided families with updates on how their child is progressing with their goals in their individual education plans. Thank you to Miss Crystal Ambelas for organising and leading the meetings for our students.

 Athletics Carnivals

The rescheduled Year 3-6 and Year 7-9 Athletics Carnivals were both a success. The weather was kind on both days, which provided for a fun filled day for students in competing in various events. Thank you to Ms Caitlin Pretty for organising both events.

The Biggest Morning Tea

Food Technology and the Hands on Learning (HOL) Café hosted a ‘Bake Sale’ for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, to raise funds for the Cancer Council Victoria and support those impacted by cancer. There were lots of delicious baked treats for students to purchase. Thank you to both Mrs Sharmilee Lele and Sarah Jarman for organising this special annual fundraiser each year. This year they raised a Grand Total $1809.50

Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

Friday 26 May marked National Sorry Day. On this date, we remembered and acknowledged the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as 'The Stolen Generations'. On this day, students will be participating in a number of Morning Circle activities in their classrooms.

Friday 3 June marks Mabo Day. Edward Mabo was an Indigenous Australian man from the Torres Strait Islands known for his role in campaigning for Indigenous land rights in Australia and this day is all about recognising his efforts and impact. On this day, students will be participating in a Morning Circle activity as a part of their Home Group.

Year 8 Waratah Beach Camp

Year 8 students will be heading off for three days to Waratah Beach Camp from Wednesday 31 May  to Friday 2 June. Students will participate in many fun outdoor activities with their peers. We wish students and staff a great time and we look forward to hearing about it upon their return. Thank you to Mr Liam Ryan for leading the camp organisation.

Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser

On Saturday 27 May, we held a Bunnings BBQ fundraiser to raise funds for our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) Shop. We raised over $2000! Thank you all families who came along to support by purchasing a sausage. An extra big thank you to Abi Smith who organised the whole fundraising event and to Mrs Kate Newitt, Miss Chloe Karras and Miss Michelle Krell for assisting on the day.

Cooler Weather

Although it has been lovely seeing and playing with all of the different coloured leaves that have fallen from the trees, it is also a reminder that cooler weather has arrived. At this time of the year the weather can be very unpredictable and can change very quickly - please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately according to the weather. Should your child wish to wear a beanie, scarf or gloves whilst outside, he/she may do so as long as the clothing items are school colours.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
