Fighting Extinction Schools Showcase @ the Melbourne Zoo

What a fun and successful day we had presenting our Showcase to the Melbourne Zoo visitors.

The sustainability leaders who attended the September Love Your Locals Day at Werribee Zoo, were personally asked to present their interactive station to Melbourne Zoo visitors. A key part of the day was displaying an interactive station facilitated by students. Each participating school is allocated a showcase station to engage zoo visitors, fellow students and zoo staff in their answer to the following question: 'We need smarter, greener towns for people and wildlife. How can we create a Victorian western region that is sustainable for people and creates safe habitat for animals like the Eastern Barred Bandicoot, the Orange Bellied Parrot the Plains Wanderer, or a species of your choice?'

Our students chose to create an E-Book to engage and inform the local Brimbank community and foster a greater understanding and appreciation of endangered species and the natural environment they depend on.

Please read the E-Book our students helped create for the Love Your Locals Day. We hope you enjoy reading and learning about our local wildlife and native plants!
