Remembrance Day Service

Remembrance Day was commemorated with a special service in the Church last Friday involving students from Prep to Year 11. It was a short but solemn service providing our students with an opportunity to stop and reflect on the importance of the day, and the sacrifices made by others. Of special significance was the playing of the Last Post by a representative of the Oakleigh and District Brass Band, Rachael Bean, and Oakleigh Grammar alumnus PO Kathy Kiryakos representing the Royal Australian Navy.

I would like to acknowledge the students and staff that were selected to participate as leaders in this service as their contributions enhanced the service: Mary Keoylian (Year 3)

Melina Movsisian and Billy Lambadaridis (Year 4), Anastasia-Iona Vacta (Year 5), Ayden George Gigu (Year 6), Jasmine Micallef (Year 7), Nilesh Sharma (Year 8), Natasha Kaniadakis and Manni Talias (Year 9), CJ Rocks (Year 10) and Anthony Kontos (Year 11). The contributions of Father Stavros, Mrs Shelley Parkes and Mr Manoj Patel were also greatly appreciated.
