Cool Kids:

Mikayla is wearing her gumboots below for Gumboot Friday and she’s hoping to read the message below to her class to help raise awareness about Gumboot Friday. Mum shared this as she is justifiably a very proud Mum! Mikayla has such a kind and caring nature and is always looking out for other people.

Karamea is another proud mum, and shared this with us:

I want to share some great news about my daughter Kalani Matthes ex-student of Western Heights Primary School.

Last night at the Massey High School Year 12 Graduation she was selected Gold Badge Prefect at Massey High School with a Cultural Leader role.

Her love, passion and drive to lead stem from her years here at Western Heights, the teachers that believed in her and gave her leadership roles. This was especially true of her last two years here in Mrs Lupe's and Mr Taura's classes. Along with her selection as Student Councillor in year 6, their encouragement paved the way for her to then become Deputy Head Girl at Henderson Intermediate and now Gold Badge Prefect.

We couldn't be more proud of Kalani, and her dad and I want to thank all staff at Western Heights School for moulding our girl to where she is today, Loving to Learn to Lead.

Mel is another proud mum, and shared this with us.

Karamea's fantastic news about Kalani reminded me I too owe the WHS staff a massive 'thank you!' Last night Kieran performed his final Head Boy job at Liston College with a speech.  He also picked up four awards: leadership award,  1st in music , 1st in geography and 1st in  media studies and $1,000 Liston Old Boys Scholarship.

Kieran was guided by so many incredible teachers in his time at WHS who instilled in him so many positive qualities. Mark and I will always be grateful for the fantastic educational start he had in life!

Everyone gets a birthday card on their birthday - or as close to it as I can manage - and this week Storm had her birthday. She had been reminding me daily in the days leading up to it and was very proud to show off her new dress when she received her card.
