Zone Touch Champions - Again:

Our kids are amazing. So are our WHS coaches. Put the two together and you get success and more success.

Recently our Touch Teams competed at the west Zone Touch Football Champs. Both teams played consistent, quality football throughout their pool matches. Touch Football requires teams to have good systems and to consistently apply them. They had great systems but had also been taught to use their flair, pace and spontaneous skills when the opportunities arose.

Our boys were pretty dominant throughout, our girls faced some big challenges but overcame them all. Our players showed amazing talents and were always humble with each win, cheering the other teams they played against and also for our WHS teams.

Both finals were close-run games. Our boys won their final thanks to Zion scoring the go-ahead try seconds before full-time.

Player of the day for our girls' team was definitely Madi Daekin, scoring at least 12 tries in the round-robin games and scoring the winning try in our final against Pomaria Primary.

At full-time was 1-1, so each team had to drop a player meaning a 5-on-5 player playoff with a golden try needed to win it. Madi got that golden try.

Other try scorers were Sienna and Cece.

Congratulations all - we are so proud of you!
