Grade 3

Wow it’s already Week 6! Term 4 has been a wonderful term so far, which has seen the students coming to school full of energy and enthusiasm. We have been impressed with the increased maturity and resilience. Last week, we had our Oatlands School fete which was a huge success.  Everyone had so much fun. We are looking forward next week when we have our Oatlands dance production!

English

In English, we have been learning about the structure and features of Information texts. We have been continuing our ‘Oatlands Road Trip’ and as a result we have been completing various reading and writing tasks relating to facts about Australian states.  The students have found these activities stimulating and interesting. They have produced some wonderful pieces of work.

Mathematics

In Mathematics, we have been playing  a game each week to help with the students' mental computation. There has been a particular focus on times tables as it is important to have automatic responses in relation to these multiplication facts. We have  made many connections to our road trip in mathematics as well.

We continue to be impressed with the work ethic of our students. We are very proud of each and every one of them.

We hope that you all have a wonderful week and we can’t wait to see as many families as possible at the Oatlands dance production.

Kind regards
