DEPUTY PRINCIPAL, Wellbeing & Operations

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Well done to all of our Year 10, 11 & 12 students for the manner in which they have approached their respective examination periods over the last few weeks. As I write this article, the final touches are being put on the Year 12 Graduation Dinner, which officially marks the final school event for the Graduating Class of 2022. They have certainly made us proud and we are all looking forward to celebrating this terrific milestone with them and their families. Year 10s and Year 11s beginning their Orientation Week for 2023 on Monday 21st November. We remind them that the purpose of Orientation Week is to give them a ‘headstart’ to their VCE studies and it’s an opportunity to really lay some solid foundations over the holidays in preparation for their VCE journey. Thank you to all staff also involved in the Orientation Week lessons.

Upcoming webinar for parents  – Taming Teen Anxiety

All Academy parents are invited to a free parent support webinar taking place on Tuesday 29 November at 7.15pm.

The webinar aims to support your child to manage stress, worry and anxious feelings.

As a parent, are you:

  • concerned about your child’s ability to manage stress, deal with school pressure or handle failure?
  • wondering how you can encourage your child to step out of their comfort zone, navigate friendship issues, or face their fears?
  • unsure about how to respond to your child’s moodiness, angry outbursts, or disengagement?
  • struggling with how to talk with your child about stress and anxiety?

This webinar aims to unpack what is happening in your child’s brain when they’re dealing with stress and anxiety. Parents will take away practical ways to support your child and build their skills to manage their worries, both big and small.

This program is delivered by Relationships Australia Victoria as part of Yarra Communities that Care.

Session content is based on the Tuning in to TeensTM program.  Whilst the webinar is free of charge, parents are required to book via this link

More information will be provided after booking.

Final Weeks

As mentioned in last fortnight’s College News, as the final few weeks of the year approach parents are urged to encourage their daughters to remain focused on finishing well and with the same vigour and attitude with which they have applied themselves throughout the course of this year. The College’s expectations do not change nor do we allow standards to decline just because we are nearing the Christmas holidays. We ask that you support the College in ensuring that the students continue to work to the very best of their ability right up until the 2nd December.

Please do not hesitate to be in touch if you have any questions concerns.
