VISUAL ARTS

Exhibition 2022

This year’s Visual Arts Exhibition was particularly special this year, given that it marked the first time in two years that we could celebrate together.  And there was much to celebrate! The exhibition showcased over 1000 artworks, from years 7 – 12, across a broad range of media including drawing, Painting, ceramics, textiles, video, photography and sculpture. It was a living, breathing testament to the creative vitality of our students.

The quality and diversity of the works exhibited is a tremendous source of pride for our college. There were a number of awards presented on the opening nights.

MUSIC

Yrs 7–11 Music Recital

On Thursday evening, 3 November, students from years 7 to 11 performed for parents, teachers and friends at the Year 7 to 11 Music Recital. After dedicated preparation and practice, students presented a variety of repertoire, including jazz, classical, musical theatre and many other genres. Academy’s large musician population of over 100 students, performed in venues including the Chapel, Hall and Drama Studio in front of a supportive and large audience. It is always rewarding to see the Academy community come together to share the beauty of music and this event was no exception. It is also amazing to see students able to grasp the opportunity to perform for live audiences on occasions such as this. Overall, the recital was a lovely way to end a successful year of performing arts.

A big thank you to Mrs. Morris for organizing this event and to all of the Academy Performing Arts Staff, Instrumental Music Teachers and piano accompanists for their expertise, support and encouragement.
