Thank you!

At the end of last term the grade 3 and 4 students enjoyed a day trip up to Falls Creek to enjoy a day out on the slopes and participate in a cross-country ski lesson.

In addition to our previous thank yous to our parent helpers and our bus driver, Heath, we would also like to thank the kind efforts made by the ski instructors from Windy Corner. Students have completed a poster with memories and their thank yous from the day.

Urban Camp

Last Monday our grade 3 and 4 students set off to Melbourne.  A jam packed few days saw them attend Scienceworks to watch a special Planetarium Experience, which included a live presentation of the current night sky and the major astronomical objects that can be seen. They also visited the Melbourne Museum, Melbourne Zoo, the Immigration Museum and Imax.

The Melbourne Museum was greatly enjoyed by both students and teachers with interactive displays.  The miniature gallery was a particular favourite where students explored the shifting-scale world of models and miniatures, more than 300 astounding models from the museum’s own collection.

Melbourne Zoo as always was fantastic. The weather was perfect to meander through the pathways looking at all their favourite animals.  When asking the students throughout the week which animal was their favourite, it seemed to be the Meerkats.

At the Immigration Museum, students looked through the galleries to explore why people have migrated to Victoria, where they settled and how they started a new life here. Students also had a chance to read information on The First Fleet and learn more on this topic that they have been exploring in class. Students enjoyed fun interactive videos, and were able to delve into the immigration of the many cultures in our country.

At IMAX students enjoyed  BUGS: MIGHTY MICRO MONSTERS 3D.

Students where taken on a tour of the bustling world beneath our feet. From the Kenyan savannah to the tropical rainforests of North East Australia, the superpowers of some mighty micro monsters were revealed.

Wilsons Prom Camp

On Friday evening our Grade 5 and 6 students arrived back safe and a bit weary from a fabulous few days away. The weather turned out to be absolute perfection for all 4 days. We have had reports that the water felt nice, but was freezing, the sand was lovely between their toes and Squeaky Beach lived up to it's name - it was very squeaky and so much fun!

A hike to Mt Oberon rewarded them with spectacular views and they took a moment to soak it all in.

The night time activities consisted of a nocturnal walk which resulted in a wombat sighting and he/she was a very healthy specimen!  Students also played some group games; minute to win it and a trivia night.  The cabins where apparently cosy and the bunk beds were creaky.  The children, volunteers and staff have many happy tales to tell and many fabulous memories.

Coco Koala

Coco has been with Class 1/2 this week.  All students have been working on a secret project and Coco was lucky enough to help class 1/2.  In art the students made special cards to thank their teacher in celebration of World Teacher's Day.
