Wellbeing

Over the course of Term 2 there has been a range of activities coordinated by the Wellbeing Team.

  • Fathering Project Pizza and Paper Planes evening – we had a huge turnout of about 110 Fathers/Father figures and children to make paper planes, eat pizza, and join in fun games. On a cold but clear winter’s evening, it was great to see the fun and conversations that were had. Looking forward to another event later in the year!

  • Everyday Resilience – friendships can be tricky to navigate, and the Year 3/4 classes have benefitted from the experience and wisdom of Michelle Mitchell during this 10 week series as she has tackled some of the harder things around being a friend.

  • Kimochis – the Year 2 class have looked at two of the three protective factors for dealing with change and worries – Grateful and Hopeful - through a range of different games and activities. Next term they will look at the final factor – Being Brave.

  • In May, our Year 4 – 6 students participated in the Wellbeing and Engagement Collection. Results will be available during Term 3 and will inform our Wellbeing support going forward.

  • Our Wellbeing Team also have worked with students one-on-one to provide social and emotional support, as well as with small groups for the same purpose.

If you need any support with your child’s Wellbeing, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the Wellbeing Team.

The Fathering Project

On Friday 23rd June, Pilgrim School held its first Fathering Project event. The Pizza and Paper Planes event saw around 110 Pilgrim School Father/Father figures and their kids come for a night of fun activities. There was a range of paper planes created, some flew well… some did not. Kids and Dads took part in distance throwing, accuracy throwing and a very competitive game of apple stacking.

The atmosphere was excellent and it was very uplifting to see a strong community of men and their kids engaging in fun activities. We look forward to running another event in Term 4.

This portal is for you to access a number of resources, information, videos, and podcasts on ideas to assist you in the fathering journey. As this portal is exclusive to our school community, it is also a place where we can inform you of upcoming Fathering Project Events that we are running at the school.
