Parent's voice
Thank you to everyone who attended the PC Meeting today. We have made lots of progress on plans for upcoming events and we have even started work on the End of Year Party (believe it or not!).
PC Fundraising Year to Date
One of the goals of the PC is to fundraise for extra items and equipment needed by our students. Half way through the year, the PC’s events and services for the school have raised $15,883.16. Some of these funds will be spend on the 10 new garden beds for the STEM program run by Mr Lewis and some existing funds have been set aside to fund playground/sandpit works already underway.
Bastille Day Plans – Friday 14 July
We are preparing for Bastille Day 2023 which is the 1st Friday of Term 3. PC plans to sell donated crepes on the day and create a festive atmosphere. We need crepe donations from our families. Crepes freeze well, so why not make a few extra over the holidays. A recipe with instructions has been prepared to assist. If you can pledge some crepes for the sale, please fill out the Bastille Day Crepe Pledge form. Please see the flyer in the newsletter for more information. The IT issues with the pledge form have been fixed. I works best in the Google docs app.
Bastille Day Stalls: Do you have a business that would like to run a stall for our school community to enjoy on Bastille Day...think cheese, rillettes, other delicacies? Please contact us at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com if you are interested.
Band/Orchestra @ CJC: Correction: We are looking for a band/orchestra leader? There is some interest for starting a school band/orchestra at CJC, but we are looking for a parent who would be interested in setting up a Choir at CJC. WWCC is required.
2023 September School Arts Festival: The School and EFM have an ambitious Arts festival planned for Friday 8 and Saturday 9 September 2023 and the PC will help with coordinating food providers/BBQ, volunteers, activities and stalls. The Art Fair has the potential to be a wonderful event for the School and if anyone is interested in being part of a team managing the PC’s contribution - we would love to hear from you.
Volunteering: The Parent’s Committee will now use the Sign-Up online platform to manage and streamline volunteering at the school. All of the upcoming events where volunteers are required are now online and you can sign up to volunteer ahead of time. In terms 3 and 4 we have a number of events planned where parent volunteers are needed:
- Bastille Day: Friday, 14 July
- Father’s Day Stall and Breakfast: Friday, 1 September
- Stargazing Night: TBD (Science Week depending on the stars aligning)
- Arts Festival: 8 & 9 September
- Parent Bingo night (Date TBD)
- Diwali: Friday, 17 November
- End of Year Party: Friday, 1 December from 3.30 – 6pm
We hope that this new platform and advance notice will assist families to better plan when they might be able to volunteer at school: https://signup.com/go/hdjNbBk
