Year 7/8 Gideon Program

This year the Gideon Program has taken on running a Chicken pen. The chickens are housed in an open and customised coop that students in our class made from a kit under the guidance of Mr Wakim who loves working on projects with King’s College students. We have five Chickens named Nugget, Spicy, Karen, Luigi and Sonic and are hoping to show the chickens at the Royal Melbourne show this year. They will be judged on their eggs, weight, size and health of the bird. We have a special Chook Patrol which looks after the Chickens and helps to monitor how they are going. It has been a great experience so far and exciting to have them at School.

Year 9 Community Service

The Year 9 Community Service class had another session of cleaning up and loving our community by picking up many bags of rubbish along the beach between the Surf Club and the Breakwater. We even had the pleasure of having some of the champion Year 7 Table Tennis stars join us in the clean-up after they had a successful day out competing. Well done to all the students involved.

Year 9/10 Sport Education

To close out the semester of Sport Education at the end of Term 2, students were invited to participate in a group circuit session at Momentum Fitness Warrnambool. Instructors Scott and Emmy took students through a variety of exercises using some of the latest and greatest equipment on offer in this commercial gym setting. Students have been exploring their own workout program through fitness testing and were able to put into practice all their skills and technique knowledge through the functional training circuit.
