Gardening Fun!

Hi everyone! What a gorgeous day for gardening in the sunshine today! We had lots of eager helpers and harvested some bok choy, chives, silverbeet and beautiful calendula flowers. We learned how to hammer stakes into the ground to raise up the netting that covers our plants. Hopefully this will stop the cheeky possums from eating our veggies. We really enjoy our weekly visit from Melvyn Colaso, Olivia’s Grandpa and he is such a great help in the garden.

Things we need!

Do you have any spare paper bags we could use to bring home our vegetables? Please leave at the office, labelled “Miss Belinda”. Thank you! We also need some more “bird safe” netting if you have any spare from your gardens.

Classroom Recycling

Sustainability leaders are seeing less “mistakes” in the classroom recycling bins. It is great to see our leaders teaching our younger students about recycling and what can go into the bins.

Nude Food Day every Thursday

Well done to all students who participated in Nude Food Day this week.

And the winner for Week is … 3/4TR and the Sustainability Leaders decided to give an Encouragement Award to Prep CM also!

Some yummy ideas - a sandwich/wrap/roll, pasta with vegetables, soup, frittata or sushi, a fruit or vegetable snack, such as whole fruit, cut up veggie sticks, fruit or savoury kebab or a small salad.

There are some great ideas here:

Thanks everyone for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!

Have a great week everyone!
