The end of the term is fast approaching and with that comes the release of your child’s Mid Year Report.  This document is a chance for your son or daughter’s classroom teacher to provide feedback on the social/emotional and academic development that they have witnessed and supported throughout Semester 1.  The report also affords staff the opportunity to feedforward, identifying areas where as parents you can work alongside your son or daughter’s teachers. Through this partnership, areas for growth can be pinpointed which can encourage a student to thrive, and potential new learning opportunities can be highlighted. Equally, it is a document that identifies areas where your child may need our combined support. For example, assistance that will contribute to their ability to reach grade standard, build resilience, and/or expand their social interactions. Our shared objective is to provide the children with the very best environment and support to enable them to be life-long learners, with a well-rounded experience of school life. This is an ongoing journey, and a key part of the endeavour is your attendance at upcoming Learning Conferences in Term 3, in which the nuances of your child’s schooling can be discussed openly, positively, and with this shared objective in mind.

‘Collaboration requires daring leadership from everyone on the team.
It means having tough conversations, staying curious,
and learning how to listen’. -

The Joys of Term 2

Normally classes are on a rotation to contribute an article for The View but this fortnight, as we wrap up Term 2, each class has contributed a piece to showcase all that goes on behind the walls of the classrooms across the Primary School.  Being able to see the magical learnings through photos and ‘write ups’ from Kinder through to Year 6 allows you as the reader to get a deeper understanding of how we tick.

What a term ahead!

Before we know it Term 3 will be upon us and just looking at the calendar it is full of adventure, critical thinking, entertainment and spiritual connections.  Some amazing opportunities coming to our Primary School in no particular order are as follows:

  • Learning Conferences
  • Kinder - Year 6 Athletics Carnival
  • Incursions and Excursions
  • Languages Week
  • Visiting Performers from Terrapin Theatre Company
  • Class Masses
  • Science Week
  • The Arts Festival
  • Tournament of Minds
  • Yaizu Students Arriving
  • Maths Relays
  •  Year 6 Canberra Trip

Thank you

To our parent/carer community a huge thank you for your continued support of what we do in our Primary community.  I hope that if you do have the opportunity to take some days to rest and rejuvenate over the holidays it is full of fun, laughter and joy.  If travelling on our roads or across to far flung areas you stay safe.
