Health and Physical Education

F/1

Over the past four weeks, our energetic Foundation and Year 1 students have been having a blast in Physical Education class, refining their "atrapar" (catching) skills and exploring new challenges. In groups, they have been improving their "atrapar" (catching) abilities, learning to work together and support one another.

But that's not all! To add a new twist to their catching prowess, our youngest students have been introduced to the skill of underarm "lanzamiento" (throwing) before the catch. This technique has allowed them to enhance their coordination and anticipation, making their catches even more impressive.

To make things even more fun, our PE sessions have incorporated smaller balls such as tennis balls and fox tails. These new additions have provided our students with different experiences, encouraging them to adapt their catching techniques to various sizes and textures.

It has been truly inspiring to witness the determination and progress of our Foundation and Year 1 students in PE. I am proud of their enthusiasm and look forward to more exciting adventures in Term 3.

2/3

The past four weeks have been filled with incredible achievements for our Year 2 and 3 students in Physical Education class. After completing the "atrapar" (catching) program, they have now embarked on an exciting journey to enhance their overarm "lanzamientos" (throwing) skills.

To promote teamwork and cooperation, all activities have been conducted in both "pequeños y grandes" (small and big) groups. This approach has not only sharpened their "habilidades de lanzamiento" (throwing abilities) but has also reinforced their ability to work harmoniously as a team.

In their quest for improvement, our students have utilized various tools and targets such as tennis balls, fox tails, tennis nets, and buckets. These challenges have tested their accuracy and aim, pushing them to refine their techniques.

This learning unit is just the beginning of their preparation for the Athletics Carnival in Term 3. With their current dedication and the strong foundation they have built, we have no doubt that they will shine brightly on the field. Keep up the fantastic work, Year 2 and 3 students!

4/5/6

In the past four weeks, our Year 4, 5, and 6 students have been on a journey of growth and development in Physical Education classes. They recently completed an exhilarating Netball program led by Netball Victoria, where they not only improved their fundamental movement skills like chest passing and receiving but also gained a deeper understanding of the sport's rules.

Building upon their Netball success, the past two weeks introduced our students to the exciting world of net wall games. They have been enthusiastically learning the rules and enhancing their skills, while also refining their hand-eye coordination using various different type of rackets.

In an effort to foster inclusivity, students have been encouraged to modify and adapt the games to ensure everyone can participate. This promotes creativity and empathy among the students, creating an environment where all feel welcome and valued.

Additionally, effective communication within teams has been emphasized to enhance teamwork and cooperation. Students are learning the importance of clear communication to achieve common goals and maximize their collective potential.
