News from the Chicken Coop

Egg-citing news!

Our new chickens have begun laying eggs!

Well, at least one of them has but we’re not sure who it is yet.

Hopefully it won’t be long before the others get the idea of laying and start providing us with daily delicious fresh eggs and we can start Egg Lotto again.

Chicken Duty Roster-Volunteers needed for the school holidays

Volunteers are now needed to look after the chickens during the school holidays, dates available are 1 July - 9 July.

You can choose how many days you would like to do, 2, 3 or 4 days in a row would be ideal. Chicken Duty involves letting the chooks out of their coop in the mornings and putting them away in the evenings, checking that they have enough water each day and feeding them when needed. Occasional cleaning out of chicken manure will also be required. Full instructions will be provided.

Please email Mel at  mkerwin@sjmitcham.catholic.edu.au with several of your preferred dates if you are interested in being added to the roster. First in, first choice of dates!

Wonder Recycling Rewards Program is finishing!

Keep collecting your bread bags this week and bring them in asap.

Last day for collection is Friday 23 June.

There is a box in the office area to deposit your clean bread bags. Please do not put anything else in this box other than plastic bread bags. The more bags we collect the more credits we receive to redeem free sports equipment for our school.
