CAPTAIN'S CORNER

SENIOR CAPTAIN

With Term 3 coming to an end, heaps of activities have occurred at lunchtimes, such as the watermelon explosion during Science Week and some really entertaining Gigs on the Green performances. There are heaps of activities coming up in the next few weeks such as Cultural Diversity Week where there will be a range of food stalls and a chance for everyone to learn about different cultures from around the world, a lunchtime dodgeball game, and the annual senior students vs teachers basketball match happening in the last week of term 3. Get involved in as many activities as possible as it will get you to meet new people and create long-lasting memories that stay with you from high school.

Year 12s are finishing off all their last assessments before they start getting into exam preparation and enjoying their last few weeks of school. Good luck to everyone finishing the term and stay positive leading up to the holidays!

It was great to see that in the last Year 12 English SAC which was completed on Monday, on every table there was a note from Year 7 students wishing everyone good luck and to stay calm for the SAC. Having those letters was fantastic and I think gave a few people a giggle with some of the messages that were written down which helped to ease the nerves of everyone. It's great to see that the whole school has everyone's backs when it comes to these sorts of things not just for Year 12s but for everyone

JUNIOR CAPTAIN

So far this term has been a really busy term with the Division Athletics which happened on Thursday 24 of August where all our best track and field athletes competed for a spot in the next round. We wish them all the best in the next round.

There have been many lunchtime events happening at the East Campus such as the Scorpion Futsal Tournament for both Year 8s and 9s happening in the Gym, as well as the Year 8 Fifa Tournament which is coming soon for the Year 9s as well.

As the term comes to an end the East Campus has started to feel a lot more homely with paintings and sculptures being put up and around the campus made by students during their art lessons. This has started to make the East Campus feel more homely than the start of the year.

The Elms Test is happening very soon as the teachers start to prepare for next year. Even the elective selections for next year have been made by Year 9 students for Year 10. Next week the Parent Teacher Interviews will occur on both Tuesday 5 September and Thursday 7 September. This will give parents the opportunity to see how their kids are going and ask their teachers any questions they have.

Overall, I think this has been one of the busiest terms so far this year.
