As Marist Voices (Years 5-6) and Performance Choir (Years 7-12) have just performed at the Cathedral Concert they are in the process of learning new pieces for our next performance at Soiree! That makes it the perfect time to come along and try choir and join in on the learning process. If you are a keen singer and love to belt out a tune in the car, shower … or anywhere, then choir is for you! You will learn harmony singing skills, performance skills (including some dance and drama skills) and experience performing at exciting events throughout the year. Choir is available for any student to try with Marist Voices rehearsing on Tuesday mornings at 7:25am in the Blue Room and Performance Choir rehearsing on Friday mornings at 7:25am in the Experimental Theatre.
This term the boys have been participating in audio production as one of the many Co-curricular Arts activities offered here at the College. Below is a glimpse of a live recording session held recently featuring some of our year 10 students. We are looking forward to next term when boys will explore multitrack recording with an emphasis to work towards entering Triple j's Unearthed High 2023. Audio Club is available for all Year 7 to 12 students and meets in the College's new recording studio on Tuesday afternoons between 3:20pm – 4:30pm.
As per the date hold communicated at the beginning of the year, we are pleased to confirm the College’s participation in this year’s Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival. This festival will host musical performances from Catholic School Ensembles from across Queensland.
Congratulations to the Year 5 boys who commenced their instrumental performance journey last Thursday evening in the Draney Theatre. The event featured several highlights that were presented by the String and Band groups. We look forward to the continued development of our Year 5 students into next Semester.
