Any student who has not completed his end-of-semester exams must sit any outstanding exams when he returns at the start of Term 3.
Year 5-10 End of Semester One reports are currently being compiled by our teachers. They will be available to students and parents on Friday 23 June via the Parent Portal and Student Café. Please take time this holiday to go through the report with your son over the holidays, celebrating his achievements and reflecting on areas of potential improvement.
Comments on each of the assessment tasks completed across the semester can also be found in the parent portal by following the instructions below.
Student results and feedback for assessment items can be accessed by parents on Parent Lounge. Please follow the steps below which highlight how to access your son’s results and feedback.
1. Open parent portal and click on “Parent Lounge”
2. On the left-hand tab select “Curricular Activities Due” and select “view all activities” on the top right-hand side of page.

SET Planning for all current Year 10 students will commence this Friday 23 June. The second round of interviews will take place at the start of next term. Please see the recent email from MCA Learning and Teaching for booking instructions. All subjects selected during will be checked and confirmed during these interviews. All students and a parent/carer are required to attend.
Year 9 Performance and Pathway Conversations will be taking place during Weeks 3 and 4 of next term. These conversations provide a valuable opportunity for our students to engage in meaningful discussions about their subject selection for 2024. The conversations will involve 15-minute interviews with individual students and their parents, during which they can discuss their academic achievements, strengths, and aspirations.
Parents and Carers of students in Year 9 will receive notification via email during Week 1 that Web Preferences are open. Your son will then be able to select subject preferences for 2024 through this online system, and then book a time during Weeks 3 and 4 (Monday 24 July – Friday 4 August) to meet with a staff member who will provide guidance and address any questions. Further information on this process will be shared via email from MCA Learning and Teaching early next term. We encourage all families to actively participate in this important process and take advantage of this opportunity to shape their students' educational journey.
Students who wish to change subjects in Term 3 must have this completed by the end of Week 1 (Friday 15 July). Students are advised to obtain a Change of Subject Form Years 7-10 form from the Studies Office early in Week 1 to ensure this process is completed by this deadline.
The Year 12 External Exam timetable was emailed to all students and parents on the day it was released from QCAA (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment). It is also available to view online at External assessment timetable | Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (qcaa.qld.edu.au)
Background Information
The QCAA appoints members of the Queensland community to observe the administration of external assessments. The invigilator role is independent; they are appointed to observe and report on the administration of the external assessments. Invigilators play a key role in promoting public confidence in the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) system and ensuring that proper and fair administrative procedures are implemented.
Invigilator roles
Applications for invigilator roles from Queensland community members — including those who have already registered their interest — are now open. Those who have worked as an invigilator in previous years will also need to reapply. Invigilators are appointed as casual employees under the Education (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority) Act 2014.
Role summary
Invigilator duties and eligibility requirements are detailed in the Position description: External assessment invigilator available at www.qcaa.qld.edu.au/senior/assessment/external-assessment/qcaa-invigilators.
Invigilators must attend allocated assessment sessions at assessment venues to observe the administration of assessments. Invigilators report their observations to the QCAA after each assessment session by completing an online Invigilator report.
