The Exchange

The 56th Exchange Wrap Up

What an amazing week!

Cheltenham Secondary College, you have been fortunate to see the return of the Avenues Exchange, on home soil. Across 3 days you have witnessed 28 events, 150 squad members, 56 years of history and a lifetime of memories being created.

Thank you to the staff and students who showed their support to The Exchange, both on and off the field. While there were so many of you cheering loudly from the sidelines, there was one student in particular who sat silently behind a desk for the last 3 days, editing and creating an amazing video package. Both Cheltenham and Avenues Squads would like to thank Ryan Quan for his contribution to The 56th Exchange. This video will be shared with our community shortly via our social media platforms.

To “Squad 56” of both Cheltenham and Avenues, thank you for your commitment to The Exchange, for some, it was a foreign concept and for most of you, a new experience. Thank you for taking a risk. You were brave, you put yourself out there and I doubt very much that you have any regrets.

You have all shown us the definition of energy, enthusiasm and determination. On day one, at the opening of the games, a squad captain fell down and the opposition captain turned back and helped them to their feet. This was an incredible demonstration of what we call “The Spirit of The Exchange” and this will only continue to grow as our two schools revive our strong and valuable friendship.

We sincerely thank our friends from Avenues College for making the journey to compete in this extraordinary and unique event and we look forward to catching up with you again.

Thank you also to our amazing Chelt.Sec community, the families who opened their homes to Avenues students, the parents, friends and families who came along to the events and cheered on our teams, to those who donated items and assisted with feeding our hungry competitors...and so much more, thank you!
