Globe athletic welcomed our year 9 boys to their functional fitness centre each Monday afternoon to complete circuit training to improve both cardio and strength training.
The students were split up into groups of three and allocated a circuit to rotate through every 90 seconds. Students were quizzed about the different muscles they were utilising and fitness components that were being trained. Globe Athletic even award an MVP each session to the student who displayed correct technique, a positive attitude towards training and impressed the coaches leading the session with their work ethic.

The MVPs over the course of three weeks were Tutavake, Nick and Demarcus. Many students stated this was their first real gym experience and thoroughly enjoyed each week. Some students claimed they had learnt a lot from the instructors and have an interest in signing up for a gym in the coming years.

Students from the Middle and Senior schools competed in badminton round robin tournaments during Term 2 at Springers Leisure Centre in Keysborough.
In the lead up to the tournament the students attended weekly training sessions which were organised by Mr. Kevin Phan and they were put through a series of drills by him and Mark Li (11D).
All students who competed showed great spirit, determination and excellent sportsmanship. Students enjoyed the challenge of the contest along with completing some duties on the day e.g. umpiring and scoring.
Some of the senior boys remarked that they had competed against some of the boys from the other schools over many years in different racquet sports and they enjoyed the friendly rivalry.
Congratulations to the Senior Boys A team who won their round robin tournament.

The intermediate and senior table tennis teams showcased their skills in the tournament held at Mckinnon Secondary College. Both the intermediate and senior teams displayed outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork.
Their hard work and dedication paid off, as Westall Secondary College emerged as the champions of the senior tournament! We congratulate our exceptional players for their remarkable achievement and wish them the best of luck as they prepare to compete at the SMR finals in August.
