Year 11 RYDA Day

Year 11 RYDA (a youth driver awareness programme presented through Rotary)
Last Wednesday our Year 11 students, many of whom are on the L’s or P’s, attended the Wagga Show Grounds to participate in the ‘RYDA day’.
At RYDA, students attend six interactive sessions. In small peer groups, they were challenged to change the way they think about road safety; participating in a stopping distance demonstration, devising personalised strategies, gaining an understanding of their individual risk profile and getting tips from road safety experts on how to protect themselves, their friends and family.
The greatest impact at RYDA often comes from the personal stories of loss and survival where students come to realise how one poor choice can change a life forever.
Our students gained knowledge, improved strategies, wisdom (hopefully) and a greater appreciation for their responsibilities as both drivers and passengers.
I would like to thank all of our students for their conduct and participation as well Mrs Cosier, Mrs Vidler and Mr Sharrock for giving up their valuable time to assist with our experience.
