I would like to thank you all – students, staff, parents and grandparents – for your support and proactivity in this very challenging time. I will continue to send out any updated information I receive as soon as practically possible. I am personally grateful to be part of such a supportive community during this time.
Earlier in the year, we called for nominations for School Council, I now can formally declare that the following nominated candidates were elected for the school council:
Deane Lam, Kunal Monga, Maulik Shah, Raja Ravi, Monique Brasher (parent representatives), Jess Jason (DET representative).
I wish to congratulate and welcome all our new members and Lisa, Maulik and Raja as returning members to the school council.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our retiring members, Michelle Shen, Kate Simpson and Tahni Ross for their valuable contribution to the council. I would like to make special mention of Aaron Sudholz for his two years on council and in particular as president for the 2019 school year.
Special mention also to Sandy Delaney who has been an active member of the Syndal South Primary School community for 11 years. She is respected and well-liked by both parents and staff and has been involved in a wide range of school community activities. Sandy joined School Council in September 2014 and has been a continuous member of the school governing body since. She has served on Education and Finance sub-committees, and as Secretary and Vice President. She was President of the School Council for 3 years (2016-2018). Thank you, Sandy, for your significant efforts over the past 11 years - they are very much appreciated! On a personal note, I would sincerely like to thank Sandy for all the invaluable support she has given me since my arrival at Syndal South.
The 2020 School Council including office bearers are as follows:
Deane Lam (President)
Lisa Macdermott (Vice President)
Maulik Shah (Treasurer)
