Meet Melbourne webinars running throughout May

Join the University of Melbourne for their Meet Melbourne 2020 online series this May. Held over 4 weeks, you will be able to attend a series of streamed forums about the course and career areas that interest you most. Chat to their faculty and academic staff one-on-one and explore their course options, career and graduate pathways and student life with these special, deep-dive conversations. You never know what you might discover! After registering you’ll also have access to the Meet Melbourne 2020 webinar recordings after the events. Photography Studies College Virtual Open Day – Sunday 17 May, 

10am – 3pm

Everyone is welcome to join PSC’s Virtual Open Day to experience their brand-new campus, purpose built for professional photographers, through a virtual walk-through.  

  • Attend live information sessions, and chat with PSC award-winning teachers about their job focused photography Higher Education Masters, Bachelor and Diploma qualifications and short courses.  
  • Interact with PSC current students about workload, hands-on course content and College life. 
  • Join FAQ sessions with their past student Alumni, who are successfully working in the industry and making a name for themselves in the areas of photojournalism, art and commercial photography.
  • You will also have a rare opportunity to show your images to our esteemed academic convenors through our virtual one-on-one feedback sessions.

La Trobe's Aspire Early Admissions Program

La Trobe are opening Aspire applications early this year on 1 May. Aspire rewards students for their leadership and community engagement with an early conditional offer and reduced ATAR into their chosen course at La Trobe, scholarships, travel funding, a support network and access to our Enrichment Program – giving students everything they need to succeed. Important information about eligibility, deadlines and receiving an offer is found on the Aspire How to Apply website. If students have had to put their volunteering and community work on hold this year, that’s okay – work from previous years is accepted including coaching, school council and many more activities. Or La Trobe have provided some ideas to volunteer from home and build up experience. Any students considering applying to the Aspire Program are encouraged to attend the upcoming Aspire 101 Webinar on Monday 11 May at 4:00pm where you will discover how Aspire can give you a head start, find out if you’re eligible and how to apply, plus get tips to ace your application and set yourself up for success. ACU early entry Community Achievers Program

The Community Achiever Program (CAP) offers future students who are active in their community early offers to their undergraduate course of choice. From regularly volunteering in their community, to representing their school or house in a leadership role, eligible students are encouraged to apply. Successful students could receive an offer to study with ACU as early as August. Due to COVID-19 social distancing protocols, we understand most people are not able to volunteer right now. The ACU admissions team will take this into consideration, and students should not let current restrictions deter them from applying. Find out more about how CAP is assessed and the application process. Applications for the 2021 CAP places will close: Melbourne – 12 August and Ballarat – 2 September.

ADF GAP year 2021 applications 

There's still time for students to apply for an ADF Gap Year, but they’ll need to apply soon so they don't miss out on their preference. The valuable work and life lessons gained during an ADF Gap Year are transferable and will give students confidence in their future career paths. They can get real engineering experience, discover their leadership potential as an officer, or find passion in an administration role. While ADF Gap Year roles initially involve only a 12-month commitment, it could be the beginning of a long and stable career in the ADF. Students who take part in the ADF Gap Year program:

  • Enjoy a great salary package plus free healthcare
  • Gain valuable skills and work experience
  • Have job security and stability
  • Live a varied, active and healthy lifestyle
  • Make friends with like-minded people
  • Have the opportunity to see more of Australia

Law Week 2020 – Monday 18 May to Sunday 24 May

There’s something for everyone during Law Week this year! Presented by Victoria Law Foundation, Law Week is an annual festival of events.
