Melbourne City All Schools Championships
With our girls winning the SACCSS competition, they were given the opportunity to compete in the Melbourne City All Schools Championships at the Melbourne City Football Clubs training pitches at La Trobe University. The day saw each school who won their respective sports association competition, compete in a one-day tournament. Our girls had an amazing day finishing with a 2 wins and 1 loss, which got them a place in the Grand Final. The Girls faced a competitive Loyola College and won the Grand Final 1 – 0. The girls talent truly shone through and they will be presented their championship cup at the first Melbourne City game of the season at AAMI park on Friday the 21st of October. (more details to follow). The girls officially went undefeated in soccer this year, which well and truly marks them as one of the best teams in the state. Well done girls!
The boys team came second overall in the SACCSS competition but because of a late withdrawal of another school they were able to compete on the Melbourne City All Schools Championship on the following day to the girls. The boys team won 2 matches and drew one, which placed them a place in the Grand Final where they competed against St Monicas College, who won the other pool. The final was extremely close with it being a draw at full time, 1- 1. The boys lost the Cup in the final penalty kick. Congratulations for a great effort boys as they left nothing on the pitch.
Visual & Performing Arts Faculty
Term 3 has been a busy time in the Visual and Performing Arts Faculty. There have been many concerts and opportunities throughout the term, both on and off campus.
The College would like to congratulate Maddison Gallagher on her recent participation in the Royal South Street competition. In collaboration with COSAMP, the MI Sound division gave students studying VET music the opportunity to not only compete but to experience performing in an industry setting. Maddison competed in the solo division and was successful in winning the COSAMP award, which consists of a day of studio time at Salt Studio, Brighton. Congratulations Maddison.

VET VCE DANCE SHOWCASE NIGHT
The Year 1 and Year 2 VET VCE Dance class had their annual Dance Showcase Night on Wednesday 14th September. The night was absolutely amazing! Student where able to perform class routines, own choreographed routines and the Year 2 class each performed one of their solo performance pieces that they will be using as part of their upcoming examination.
Ben Mai’s DJ-ing skills were truly spectacular, adding energy and life, with his half time entertainment. … and …. Lighting skills, over seen by Adam Abrahall really add to the atheistic and emotions that each dancer was trying to convey.
We are so proud of all our students!!
Year 2 Dancer will be doing their Performance Examinations on Thursday 6th October and Friday 21st October – we wish them all the best for their performance!
