Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology.
It is with great pleasure that I congratulate all the Catholic Regional College Sydenham students that entered and participated in the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion and Arts Youth Festival Awards. It was a very competitive Victorian State Finals held on the 11th September 2016 at the Saltwater Community Centre in Point Cook. There was an amazing atmosphere of creativity amongst all the entrants that entered the awards event from secondary schools across the state of Victoria. The students studying the second year Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology course entered their final pieces into the evening wear category of the awards event.
I wish to congratulate Olivia Milligan for winning 1st place and Lily Pham for winning the 2nd place in the evening wear category.
These two students will be competing at a National level at the Apex Australia Teenage Fashion and Arts Youth Festival Awards, held at the Whitehouse institute of Design on the 22nd of October 2016. I wish to take this opportunity to wish these students well on their journey to competing at the next in achieving fashion design success.
Royal Melbourne Show 2016
This year the Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology 1st year students entered their project work into the Royal Melbourne Show Arts and Crafts - Junior Textile Design category. The students displayed a range decorative design techniques as a part of their application work to the introduction in learning how to use a sewing machine which was exhibited at the Arts and Crafts pavilion at the Royal Melbourne Show. I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate these students on their achievements.
