A Reading from the 1st Letter of St Paul to Timothy

Whoever aspires to the office of leadership

desires a noble task. Now a leader

must be above reproach,

temperate, sensible, respectable,

hospitable, gentle, a good teacher.

Let no one despise you because of your

youth, but set those you lead an

example in speech and conduct, in love,

in faith, in purity.

Pursue righteousness, Godliness, faith,

love, endurance, gentleness. Fight the

good fight of the faith.

Guard what has been entrusted to you.

Lord

Who came to serve and not be served

(Mark 10.45)

May our new student leaders

Guard what has been entrusted to them.

May you give them the strength to face

the challenges.

Gentleness in the face of difficult

situations

And above all else, the gifts of faith,

endurance and love

As they live out the commission to be

servant leaders.
