Principal’s Message

Mr Nick Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are almost at the halfway point of Term 4 already! This term is definitely flying by and we are beginning to ramp up preparations for our end of year celebrations. Last week, Catholic Schools NSW released updated guidelines for schools which has provided some clarity for school community events. This includes the ability to host a Year 6 Graduation Dinner on Monday 13 December at the RSL Club. The event will be held under COVID safe conditions and Year 6 graduates and their parents will be invited to share a meal with the Sacred Heart staff to celebrate the end of their primary schooling. There will be more details sent out to Year 6 families in the near future.

The new guidelines have also permitted some changes to school operations. This includes the provision to allow school sport to resume. We will undertaking our Term 4 Swimming program commencing next Wednesday 10 November. Families were sent information via Compass last week in regards to cost and equipment needed. Consent and payment can be made on Compass. Please contact the office if you need more information.

It is of importance to note that as of next Monday 8 November, all staff, contractors and volunteers in schools must be fully vaccinated. This includes parents and family who volunteer in the canteen. From next week, you will be asked to produce your proof of double vaccination before being permitted to enter the school. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this regard.

The Term 4 School Fees and any outstanding fees are due by Friday 19 November. Please ensure that they are paid by this date to give Ms Traynor adequate time to finalise the accounts before the end of the year. If you are having difficulty with this account, please make an appointment to meet with me as soon as possible so that we can discuss ways in which we can help you meet this fee obligation.

Our 2021 Transition program came to an end on Friday with a lovely graduation ceremony for our Transition superstars! Congratulations to Georgie, Millie, Ivy, Indi, Tyler, Frank and Archer and we look forward to having you here at Sacred Heart in 2022. A huge thank you to Mrs Ress for coordinating the transition program over the year.

Special mention to Mrs Jo Tailby, our cleaner who celebrated her birthday on Saturday. Also to Mrs Fenton who celebrates a very special birthday on Thursday 4th November.

We hope you had/have an amazing day!

Have a great week!

Nick
