Junior School Report

Welcome Back
Welcome back to our final term for 2021. We hope all of our students and families had a relaxing term break which gave them an opportunity to disconnect from technology, spend time with their loved ones and re-charge for the rest of the year.
After a significant period of remote learning during Term 3, we finally received the positive news that Junior School students will progressively return to on-site learning. We are very much looking forward to welcoming our students back and continuing our learning back in the classrooms.
As we are entering into Term 4, students will be required to attend in full summer uniform. If there are any concerns or queries about the back to school process please contact your Year Level Coordinator.
Holiday break
Whilst current restrictions mean that usual holiday plans have been put on hold, it hasn’t stopped our Junior School team from enjoying the simple things in life and taking the opportunity to rejuvenate over the break in preparation for a final busy term.
Here is a snapshot on what each Junior School team member got up to over the term break:
Over the break I enjoyed some of the sunny days outside by taking my dog, Dame Helen Mirren, to the park. Together we rolled around and listened to music while eating cheeseburgers from McDonalds. I also enjoyed playing the Melbourne version of Monopoly with my housemates.

It was great to have some time away from a computer screen over the holidays. I made the most of the sunshine and went for lots of walks both early mornings and throughout the day. I’m lucky to have several large parks and creek lands in my area. Early in the morning the ducks were out scouting the area, and the frogs were croaking loudly.
Evidence of structures made by local children could be seen in the parks. My daughter’s dog, Frankie, could be seen by the front door patiently waiting for one of her daily walks. I continued my sourdough bread making which I started last year, and was asked to write an article for Teacher Magazine which was published during the holidays.

One of the many highlights to spending more time at home is the privilege to spend it with my two four-legged fur-babies, Luna and Maya. We start most days with a walk to the local coffee shop and then we wander out to the local dog park along the trail.
Every day is a new adventure for them as we will often bump into other dogs taking their humans for a walk and on our lucky days, we will encounter kangaroos, wombats and on the odd occasions, snakes (which I would prefer to keep this latter encounter on the rarer side if at all!).

My term holiday break consisted of both work commitments and an opportunity to relax and re-charge. In the first week I had the opportunity to present a Year 12 Legal Studies revision lecture for secondary schools within the Knox region. It was fantastic to see the commitment displayed by our students towards their studies in preparation for their end of year examinations. I spent the rest of my holidays exploring new parks, spending time with my 7-month old puppy, Winnie, and practising my pizza making skills.
