School Report
Virtual Tour
Remote learning 6.0
This newsletter hopes to find our families well and excited by the return of our students part time with the roadmap out /plan for all students to be fully returned onsite by November 5th. We appreciate this has been a particularly difficult time for all members of our community, and we sincerely 'hope' the roadmap/plan for all schools has provided some much needed certainty for our students, staff and families.
Launch staff is working hard towards a 'return to school' Plan to ensure health and safety and prioritizing wellbeing and academic needs for all students. Re-establishing healthy relationships/interactions, 'school/class' routines and the social norms of school life after an extended period offsite will take time, so patience and support from all quarters will be encouraged.
Students wearing their full uniform will help identify and connect to school easier and arriving on time will help your child.
The partnership between home and school will be key to ensuring the best outcome for the children, and enable the smoothest transition back to school in Term 4.
There has been quite a bit of media reporting around air purifiers in schools, but as yet we have received no notification from the Department regarding this for LPPS. Doors and windows will be open to create cross ventilation and air flow. Teachers will also be utilising outdoor spaces if the weather permits.
If your child is unwell, even if symptoms are very mild, they should stay home. They should not attend school until they have recovered. If your child has symptoms of COVID-19 or of cold and flu-like illness, even if they are very mild, see your doctor or go to a respiratory testing clinic. Your child can then be assessed and tested for the virus that causes COVID-19. Your child will have to stay home while waiting for the result of their test. You must follow the advice of your doctor or testing clinic.
Covid in children put out by the Royal Children’s Hospital:
Just a reminder that in Term Four we have a NO HAT NO PLAY policy in line with being a SunSmart school. Please make sure your child/ren brings a hat to school.
