Junior School Shelter

Thanks to the great generosity of the College Parents and Friends Association, the Junior School all-weather shelter will be surfaced with synthetic turf in the upcoming September holidays. The turf will feature four square ballgame markings and a large chessboard. The space will be able to be used by students in their break times and for formal Physical Education lessons. This will be an exciting addition to our playground. I speak on behalf of the Junior School learning community when I say a sincere thank you to the wonderful College Parents and Friends Association.

Book Week

‘Book Week 2018’ is upon us. A Junior School dress up day will be held on Friday August 24th. A student parade will take place at 12.30 pm. The winner of the Children’s Book of the Year was this year awarded to Gym Perkin’s ‘A Walk in the Bush’:

‘Little Iggy doesn’t want to leave the house, but Grandad insists – they always have fun together. What follows is a wonderful journey in the great Australian outdoors with singing birds, wallaby surprises, secret caterpillar messages and oodles of grandad humour. Here is a story about the wonders of nature, the funny side of life and spending time with the ones we love.’

Junior School Speech Day - 2018

This year, the Junior School Speech Day will be held on Friday December 7th at 1.15 pm in the Simons Auditorium. This is a change from the usual Monday of the last week of Term Four. It is an opportunity for the Junior School learning community to recognise students for academic, sporting and service awards.

Division 4 Hockey

College Numbats were dominant in defeating Monivae 7-2 in freezing conditions at the Neil Maclean Hockey Field. Best for Numbats were Ben Walker, Jack Austin and Dougal White. Numbats have certainly finished the season with a ‘wet sail’,  and look to have safely secured a finals berth.

College Bandicoots defeated Demons 6-0 in a one sided match at Pedrina Park. Best for Bandicoots were Tobi Adamson, Luke Marshall and Charlie Hawthorne. It was a great warm up for the finals for Bandicoots, who have the opportunity to finish the season in top spot with a win this Saturday against Dunkeld.

College Drop Bears drew 2-2 with top of the table Coleraine. The match was fiercely contested throughout. Best for Drop Bears were Angus Dohle, Jack Addinsall and Isaac Hocking.  A win is vital in the final round against Demons for Drop Bears to play finals in season 2018.

College Tassie Devils kept alive their finals hopes by defeating Dunkeld 2-0. The team played some excellent expansive hockey. Best for Tassie Devils were Harley Milich, Ben Potter and Chloe Baker.
