Sherbrooke Rone Excursion

Year 9

Quicker and Smarter Classes:

Excursion to Rone’s Empire at Sherbrooke

Mansion, Burnham Beeches

On a crisp, Autumn morning, the two Quicker and Smarter classes visited a dilapidated mansion in the Dandenongs, where street artist, Rone, has created an art installation amongst the ruins. Here are some of the students’ reflections:

Photographs: Amy Ye 9C

Sharlise: I liked the story that the house told.

Evan: The best thing was the scenary and the location was great, too. They had iPads to show what the rooms were like before and after the installation.

Jarrad: I liked the virtual-reality room because it showed how it was done.

Amy: Went to an old mansion full of paintings.

Michayla: Something I liked about the excursion would have to be looking at all the detailed painting, and the way they organised it.

Emily: What I liked best about the excursion was being able to independently walk around the mansion.

Parth: I liked the wall paintings in the rooms and and library and the virtual-reality tht told us the story behind the scenes.

Jeani: I liked the water-room and the photo gallery.

Mrs. Mantzanidis and Mrs. Graham-Prowse would like to extend our grateful thanks to those parents and volunteers who were willing to assist us with this excursion: Caz McCormick, Joanne Pullen and Ben Crofts. We couldn’t have done it without you.
