Kinder 2020 Orientation Morning – Friday 25th October
Next Friday 25th October will see our 2020 Kindergarten students visit for their first Orientation morning from 9.30am – 11.30am. These Orientation mornings are very important for our new children as it makes the transition a little easier next year. The children will need to wear casual clothes, bring a hat and something to eat and drink for morning tea. The second Orientation morning will be held on Friday 1st November and the final one on Friday 8th November. We trust the children will enjoy their Orientation mornings.
Parent School Readiness Workshop
Due to it's popularity last year, we will again be running an exciting Parent School Readiness Workshop for parents of Kindergarten children commencing in 2020. We encourage all parents to attend this Workshop on Wednesday 30th October at 2.00pm - 3.00pm or at 6.00pm - 7.00pm in the Kinder Classroom (Room 4). This workshop will give you valuable information to help you prepare your child for school.
2020 School Travel Applications Now Open
Applications for student travel in 2020 opened on Friday 11th October 2019.
Students progressing to year 3 and year 7 no longer need to re-apply if they:
· are continuing at the same school;
· are residing at the same address;
· have not been sent an expiry notification from Transport for NSW.
Where a student meets the new distance eligibility, the system will automatically update their entitlement. If they do not meet the new eligibility, they will receive an expiry notification via email.
Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition which is due to expire will receive a notification advising them to re-apply.
Term Bus Pass holders will receive a notification to re-apply.
If students need to update their information or re-apply, they should go online to https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts/updateDetails
Applications need to be submitted before 31st December 2019 to ensure student entitlements are updated and their current entitlement/card is not cancelled. If their application is submitted after 31st December 2019, the system will automatically cancel an entitlement/card and a new one will need to be issued.
Students residing in Rural and Regional (R&R) areas should receive their travel pass at the commencement of the new school year from their nominated operator, this may be distributed via the school or sent direct to their address. Note: some R&R operators do not issue travel passes. Students/Parents should confirm with their nominated operator if they do not receive a pass.
Clothing Pool - ITEMS WANTED
DID YOU HAVE A SPRING CLEAN OUT OVER THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS?? Both the Primary and Infants Clothing Pool are in desperate need of good quality second hand school uniforms. Clothing items in short supply include:
• Girls Summer & Winter Dresses;
• Boys short sleeve blue shirts (all sizes);
• Boys grey school shorts (all sizes);
Parents and carers have the option of donating items or alternatively you can tag them up (name, price and phone number) and sell on consignment with the school taking 20% commission.
McCARTHY CATHOLIC COLLEGE
Year 7 2020 Orientation & Information Night
ORIENTATION DAY - Monday 2nd December 2019, 9.30am to 2.30pm, MCC Hall
Students from St Edward's School will be transported to MCC at 9.00am and returned at 2.30pm with Hannafords Coaches. Students are to wear their full primary school uniform and bring their own morning tea, lunch and a drink bottle. All students will be met by senior student buddies on their arrival at the College.
PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT
Monday 2 December 2019 - 6.00pm to 6.45pm, MCC Hall
Following the Year 7 2020 Orientation Day, McCarthy Catholic College will be holding a Parent Information Night to discuss important information for the transition of your child to high school.
