Pathways Tasmania Inc is a unique Tasmanian for purpose charity with DGR status (tax deductibility with the Australian Tax Office). We provide pathways into a bright future for Tasmanians who are homeless and those battling addictions.
Pathways gratefully receives Tasmanian State Government funding to help achieve what it does, and is thus formally recognised as an organisation of compassion and integrity, but without ongoing fundraising support from private and corporate supporters, we would have to close our doors. Pathways does three things for Tasmania:
1) Through our Launch Youth facility in Hobart, we provide a safe home to teens and young men aged 13 – 22 years of age. Launch is the only medium-to-long-term shelter for homeless teenage boys in Tasmania. They come to us from a range of battered and broken histories, wounded and scared. Some of these young men have eventually become members of our staff after setting their own lives on the right path.
2) Via the gift of Velocity Transformations, the only long term residential rehab in Southern Tasmania, we bring back to health almost 30 men and women who come to us destroyed by addictions. They find a pathway back to health and dignity in their own community.
3) Through our adored 212 acre property, Kingsholme, a unique community of families run a social enterprise that serves the needy and vulnerable in Tasmania in the idyllic country town of Ellendale, some 30 mins drive up the Derwent Valley from New Norfolk.
