AFL and Netball

On Friday 26th July the Greenvale Primary School AFL and Netball teams went to Jacana Football Club and Boardmans Stadium in Sunbury to compete in the Divisional Interschool Sports.

The Netball teams experienced a mix of results for the day, winning and losing games but learning a lot about the sport of netball along the way. Not a single player on the Greenvale Primary School Netball teams had played competitive netball outside of school, so to make it to the Divisional Championships was a great result.

Thank you to Mr Rovetto, Ms Lalor and Ms P for attending with the teams.

The recently strengthened AFL team played exceptionally well throughout the day, with very strong performances against Westmeadows, Craigieburn South and St Anne’s Primary Schools.

The team attacked the contests with vigour and spirit, tackled and ran hard and were very skilful around the contest.

They won all three of the matches and will now advance on to the Northern Metropolitan Region finals in just over a weeks time.
