Student Attitude to School Survey

Earlier this year, our Year 4 to Year 6 students completed the on-line Attitude to School survey.

The Student Attitude to School Survey asks students to respond to questions in the domains of Effective Teacher Practice, Teacher – Student Relations, Learner Characteristics, Social Engagement and Student Safety. This Department of Education and Training (DET) survey captures students’ attitudes and experiences at school aligned with DET’s Framework for Improving Student Outcomes (FISO). Results for our school were recently available to us but at this stage there is no comparison with the State or with schools that are similar to us in composition. We are extremely pleased with the high percentage of approval by our students across all areas.

100 Days at School Celebration

Congratulations…………..Last week, our Foundation students celebrated 100 days of schooling. What a lot of learning has occurred in such a short time! These students have begun reading, know their letters and sounds, can write sentences / stories and engage knowledgeably in Maths activities. Also, importantly, they have learnt to work together in groups, co-operate with each other and demonstrate our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Honesty and Learning.

Reminder - Parent Opinion Survey

If your family is one of the 30% of randomly selected families within our school, you will have received an email outlining further details of how you can access the survey. Please check your email Inbox. Your time in completing this would be most appreciated. We have had a really low response rate from our families in the past and would love to improve this and hear from more families.

All responses to the survey are anonymous. If you have been selected and do not have on-line access to a device, you may come the school Library and use a computer which will be set up for this purpose.

The online survey closes on Sunday 11 August – please make the time to respond.

Reminder - Foundation Enrolments for 2020

Do you have a child who will be a Foundation student in 2020? Have you enrolled him/ her yet? If not, please do so immediately by phoning the school office or dropping in to complete the enrolment form.

Curriculum Day - Wednesday 21st August 2019

Just a reminder that students do not attend school on this day. Our before and after school care providers, TheirCare, will again be running a fun program for the day to cater for children where both parents are required to go to work.
