Year P-1 Excursion Report

M. Brown

The Year P-1 students enjoyed their science excursion to Orange World and Lock 11.

After a tractor ride around the citrus trees we had a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious!

At Lock 11 we watched the water level change to let the P.S. Melbourne go through and went for a walk to see the Mildura Weir.  The students had a great time.

With Melbourne Cup coming up, students from Year P-1 were inspired by 'Fashions on the Field- Hat Wear' in their art session.

The P-1 students learnt how to fold and create a paper hat, they then had to 'add their style' to the hat.  Some fabulous and prize winning creations were made.  An awesome effort by everyone!

S. Gardiner

The Year 2-3 students received an early Halloween treat. The teachers surprised the students with a spooky morning tea in preparation for their 'Big Write' titled 'How to write a recipe for a Halloween snack'.   Year 2-3 writing stimulus for procedures/recipe with a fantastic Halloween theme proved to be very exciting and disgusting!!  The students wrote awesome recipes as a result.

Year 2 Excursion Report

W. Finn

The Year 2 students had a fantastic time learning about food from 'Paddock to Plate'.  Students visited Woolworths last Friday.  The very kind staff there, Sam, Meryl and Lisa took them for a behind-the-scenes look at Woollies on 15th Street where they were treated to lots of food tastings. Our fruit salad was delicious.  After a yummy lunch at the Plaza, they explored the SRS Benetook Farm, picking strawberries, meeting chickens and getting lost in the maze.  It was a great start to the annual Sleepover.
