Sunshine Kinder

What happened in November
This term has been a remarkably busy and exciting time of the year with prep transitions, and general end of the year activities. Term 4 is a rewarding time to reflect on all the milestones the children have accomplished this year. We have observed children independently learning to take care of their personal belongings, develop positive relationships and friendships and source their own learning. It has been extremely rewarding watching most of the children enter the classroom carrying their own bags and leaving with a smile in a happy and independent manner.
We started our term with the project Dinosaurs. As the children were interested in Dinosaur project it was meaningful, relevant, at the appropriate level for the learners existing knowledge. The learners were motivated and actively engaged in learning through out the project. It helped to extend their knowledge and to meet the necessary learning outcomes. Currently we are working on the solar system, our final project.
We wish to thank all the families for your contribution and assistance throughout the year and the partnership between educators and staff is invaluable for building the strong community we have here at Mernda YMCA.
As the year is coming to an end, we will celebrate our time together with an end of year Christmas party and graduation concert for our families on Tuesday 17th December. We wish our families who are leaving Mernda YMCA Early Learning Centre, all the best for their child’s future educational journey and looking forward to welcome back families who will be returning in 2020. Wishing you all a safe and happy holiday and a very exciting New Year!
Thank you
Lawri, Mini and Chathu.
