Blossom Room

What happened in November?

The month of November has been very excited for children in the Blossom room. Here are some highlights of what we did:

  • In Blossom room, we love celebrating our children’s birthday as this gives them a sense of belonging and inclusion to the service. This month we celebrated Jesse’s and Rannvijay’s Birthday in the room. We welcomed their family who joined us for afternoon tea.
  • The cultural event we celebrated was Remembrance Day where children made red poppy flowers and connected with their community.
  • As the children enjoy role playing, educators set up new area called ‘blossom ice-cream parlour’ with a variety of ice-cream toys, ice-cream scoop, cash counter and pretend money as it encourages pretend play. The children are actively involved and are enthusiastic and curious during role play because they are so eager to participate and show their social skills of sharing and caring.

Song of the Week

To start off the month, we sang the “pat a cake” song and made a birthday cake for Jesse and Rannvijay in the room and children enjoyed this cooking experience. To continue this experience we chose other song of the week called “I like to eat apples and bananas” and that helped children to have healthy eating habits.

Short Term goal

This month the Blossom children have really been showing how well they can not only identify their belongings i.e. HATS, but also remembering to apply sunscreen before outdoor play. We have been discussing and giving all the children the opportunity to apply their own sunscreen with great enthusiasm along with being supervised. These are great goals that the children are exceeding in to better prepare themselves for being more independent and be aware of healthy habits and looking after themselves and one another.

Long term goal

We also would just love to thank all the families that are consistently being involved with our program with either supplying activities for our room, coming in to teach, or just staying awhile and experiencing the activities we do with the blossoms. We so very much appreciate it and is great for our community and partnerships with all our Blossom families.

Reminder

Centre Christmas party is coming!!

Our blossoms are very excited and are practising very hard on their Christmas song, which we cannot wait to show everyone on the night. We would love your input with this Christmas song by providing your child with a cap and sunglasses, as this will be the costume for our song. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to talk to any of the blossom room educators.

Also we would like to give a big thank you and goodbye and safe travels to our educator Mandeep as she flies off to India from the first week of December till next year. Hope that she and her family have a wonderful time and we will miss her very much. We want lots of photos.

                                                                                          SPECIAL Thanks
