100 days of school! Well done to all our Preppies! 100 days or learning, making friends, sharing, getting along, reading, writing, learning about numbers and probably a few tired Friday afternoons too! Congrats to the new parents in this cohort! Only 1300 more days of Primary School to go!!!

Nude Food Day

By Owain and Trey

Welcome to Science Week!

The theme for Science Week this year is – Food: Different By Design. This is an important theme for teachers and students which allows us to focus on sustainable food futures. Every day we must eat. Food is our fuel for life. When we consider how to eat, we also need to think about why we need to eat well.

In the STEM room this week, the Junior students have been exploring healthy food choices and why it is important to think about where our healthy food choices come from. Our Foundation students were asked to use a variety of STEM materials to build a healthy lunchbox that included examples from many of the important food groups. We had lots of fun! If you have a student in the Junior year levels, check out the video in your Seesaw feed to see the classes in action designing their lunchboxes.

Since we are spending more and more time at home these days, it can be lots of fun to try some DIY Science with your children. Check out the Science Week link below to find some fun, simple ideas.

Lastly, check out this week’s STEM News section in the newsletter to read about the wonderful Year 5 Animal Adaptation Project Rolling Expo that has occurred this week at the STEM room. Lots of budding young scientists in these classes!

Cheers,

Mr KT
