Parents and Friends Association

FIRST LEGO League Challenge members with their new kit, September 2021.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge

The Parents and Friends (P&F) Association is proud to have made a donation to the STEM club for the purchase of two SPIKE Prime kits and two extension kits for students to use in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge (FLL). The FLL is one of the foremost international STEM competitions, run in over 110 countries, with over 680,000 participants.

A select team of students are working with Stephen Fox, Head of Information and Technology and Chrisna LeVaillant, Secondary Science teacher to prepare for the FLL season.

I would like to extend my thanks to the P&F Association who have given students the opportunity to be part of something that could change their outlook on Science and Technology. Our hope is that students will come to love STEM through FUN! Our teams will be participating in the Armadale Regional Competition to be held on Saturday 20 November at Armadale Senior High School. We appreciate all the support the P&F Association has offered our team.
- Stephen Fox, Head of Information and Technology

I would like to thank the P&F Association for providing us with these kits. These newer more advanced LEGO robots will greatly benefit us in our challenge. We will be coding and building the SPIKE Prime kits to try and do different tasks as per the challenge.
- Rowan Smart, Year 10

Thank you to the P&F Association for kindly donating the SPIKE Prime kits that we have been using. I've been excited each week to come to Mrs LeValliant's classroom and work on challenges, innovation and team building. I'm eagerly looking forward to the competition and our progression through this new challenge.
- Dylan Osborne, Year 10

Containers for Change program

Thank you to everyone who has supported the School's Containers for Change program to date. So far we have raised just over $200 through this recycling program.

We encourage everyone to support our school by sharing the Change Refund ID with family and friends. For every eligible container recycled, John Wollaston will receive 10c to go towards environmental initiatives throughout the entire school.

Simply bring in your containers and place them in the blue bins in the ELC, Primary and Secondary areas. Or use the John Wollaston Change Refund ID C10344481 at any participating refund point and the funds will be automatically placed in the P&F account.

We remind students to only place appropriate recycling items in the bins for sorting so we can avoid contamination.

Entertainment Books

Support the P&F Association by purchasing an Entertainment Book today. Each membership sold between 1 July and 30 September will put our school in the draw to win a $1,000 Rebel Sports or JB Hi-Fi eGift voucher. Books can be purchased from the link below.
