Before and After School Care

Camp Australia

Camp Australia

From 16th – 20th August, we’re celebrating National Science Week in St John's OSHC service and, this year, the theme is Food: Different by Design. COVID-19 restrictions have affected children's eating habits, so we're encouraging curiosity in the kitchen and educating children about how healthy diets lead to healthy development and that nourishing our body creates a healthy mind. Click here to see a sample of what exciting food science experiments and experiences are planned.

And what better way to celebrate a food themed National Science Week than by giving our future scientists and chefs the chance to be featured in our upcoming recipe book – The Experimental Cookbook! We are also giving you the chance to join in the competition! Get creative with friends, family and even as a school or class to put your skills to the test and win a hard copy of The Experimental Cookbook featuring your very own recipe.Starting today, until Monday, 30th August, work on perfecting your favourite recipe as a class or school. Write down all the ingredients and steps required, take some high quality photos, come up with a quirky name and head over to our website to submit - plus there's extra points for subbing in healthy ingredients. Winners will be selected by two partnering nutritionists using a set of judging criteria and 10 winning recipes from schools will be included in The Experimental Cookbook with the winners receiving a hardcopy edition.

Visit our website to find out more and enter before it's too late.
