What's happening in the classrooms

The Junior School has been very busy these past few weeks with their learning. They are doing an amazing job along with their parents switching between learning at school and learning from home. We can all be very proud of their efforts.

In Maths over the past few weeks, students have worked on their multiplication and division skills using a range of efficient mental and written strategies to build their knowledge. The students are also learning about chance and probability, where they are beginning to describe possible outcomes for different events using language such as certain, even chance and impossible.

In Literacy, the Juniors have been focusing on phonics, reading and writing. In reading the students have been making connections and visualising short pieces of text. In writing the Juniors have been learning about different types of procedures, for example, recipes and instructions. The students have also been having a bit of fun recording themselves producing their procedures.

We have been continuing our Inquiry using the big concept of systems “What makes a system a system?” Students have focused on weather systems and are currently looking at the different types of body systems.

We look forward to continuing our learning journey together and seeing where it is going to take us.
