Principal's News

Dear Parents,

Thank you to all parents for the significant support you are providing your children at present. We are very blessed at Holy Family to have a team of committed teachers who work incredibly hard to ensure your children’s learning continues in COVID times. Thank you to the team of staff who are working onsite to supervise children of permitted workers.

The government announced yesterday that we will not be out of lockdown on Thursday. This is disappointing; however, our priority is the health and safety of all members of our community. We look forward to seeing students back on-site when the schools reopen.

While we are in lockdown we need to make sure that we have only on site the children and adults that need to be here. The onsite and offsite learning program is exactly the same. We were hoping that things would start to return to normal this week but as stated above they are not. We are continuing to plan for upcoming events with the possibility of restrictions and lockdowns continuing.

Book Week

Last week we celebrated Book Week. Book Week celebrates Australian children’s literature and promotes a love of reading books for enjoyment, enhancing curiosity and a love of learning. This year's theme was Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds! Thank you to Simone Crist, our Literacy Leader, and all the teachers for organising the online Book Week events for our students

Confirmation

Thank you to the families who attended the online Confirmation session last Thursday. We are hopeful the students will be able to receive the sacrament on September 15. We are committed to continuing with Confirmation preparation despite the lockdown and restrictions, with the next event being the retreat day on September 9. I encourage families to continue working through their home preparation books as well.

Prep Transition

Our Prep Transition Program for 2022 begins online on Thursday, September 2. 2022 Prep parents should check their emails for more information. If you have not enrolled your child and would like to do so it is not too late. Please contact the office.

Normally we have prep parents and children onsite for transition but at the moment COVID restrictions do not allow this.

If your child will not be returning to Holy Family next year, please let us know as soon as possible.

Father’s Day

Our Dad’s Night to celebrate Father’s Day will be held online on Thursday September 2 at 6pm. We invite all Dads and their children to attend and participate in the fun, interactive games led by school staff. Please see information sent via Operoo and Seesaw. Thank you to Connie Drossaert for leading this and all our Wellbeing initiatives during remote learning.

Our Patch

We are continuing to work with our out of hours school care providers ‘Our Patch’. COVID restrictions and the lockdown have caused the opening date to be moved. Please register your interest if you intend to use this service. Please see the Our Patch page of the newsletter or call Our Patch 1300 018 310 for more information.

Regards,
