Mr Jay Weston Appointed Girton Deputy Principal


Girton Grammar School is pleased to announce that Mr Jay Weston, a passionate educator and learning leader with more than 20 years of professional teaching and leading experience in secondary education, has accepted the role of Deputy Principal.

 

In announcing the appointment, Girton Principal, Dr Emma O’Rielly said, “Mr Weston’s appointment is the result of an extensive search in which we have considered an outstanding field of candidates to identify an exceptional educational leader.”

 

“We were looking for a Deputy Principal with the right experience who will be committed to Girton’s educational philosophy of academic, social, and emotional learning and uphold our school Mission and Values.”

 

“Mr Weston is a highly motivated educational leader who has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving school improvement,” Dr O’Rielly said.

 

“Our new Deputy Principal has been appointed at a key time as we prepare to implement Girton’s five-year strategic plan, and I look forward to working with Mr Weston to realise a number of key strategic initiatives outlined in the plan.”

 

Mr Weston said, “Girton emphasises continuous improvement in student learning and staff development, demonstrating the school’s commitment to delivering a diverse and relevant academic and developmental education for young people.”

 

“As educators, we are compelled to engage, inspire and support our students to view ongoing learning and self-development as a lifelong adventure.”

 

“I look forward to working closely with the Girton Community to build on the strengths of our school and empower our students to take responsibility for their learning and achieve their personal best as they venture into the world.”

 

Mr Weston will join Girton at the beginning of the 2023 school year.
